All in Together for Construction Safety Week 2025: Onnec’s Commitment to a Safer Industry

At Onnec, safety is more than a checkbox—it’s a shared responsibility and an essential part of how we operate. From May 5th to 9th, we joined Winthrop Technologies, in celebrating Construction Safety Week 2025 at our largest data centre site in Sweden.

This year’s theme, “All in Together,” couldn’t be more fitting. It captured the spirit of collaboration that drives safe working environments—because safety works best when everyone’s involved.

What is Construction Safety Week?

Construction Safety Week is an annual, industry-wide initiative that unites teams to focus on health and safety. It promotes education, engagement, and continuous improvement, aiming to ensure that everyone—from apprentices to leadership—plays an active role in identifying risks and building a safer working culture.

A Week of Meaningful Engagement

Throughout the week, our team participated in a series of focused safety activities alongside Winthrop Technologies. The event highlighted the value of collaboration across all levels of the project team, reinforcing a culture where safety is prioritised and proactively managed.

Onnec proudly sponsored two keynote speakers who shared real-life experiences about the human and operational impacts of workplace incidents. Their powerful stories reinforced the importance of vigilance, teamwork, and responsibility in maintaining a safe work environment.

A key highlight was Kenneth Jenkins, Onnec’s Health and Safety Manager for the Nordics, presenting an interactive session on arc flash awareness and emergency rescue procedures. He outlined the serious risks posed by arc flashes—including extreme heat and explosive force—and stressed the critical role of good housekeeping and preventative measures. Kenneth’s dedication to safety was formally recognised, being named Star of Safety Week.

Onnec worked hand-in-hand with Winthrop Technologies throughout the week, jointly delivering safety presentations and maintaining a high standard of site safety. This collaboration ensured consistent communication and shared accountability across all teams.

All in Together, Every Day

Construction Safety Week 2025 was a powerful reminder that safety is everyone’s job. By working together—contractors, subcontractors, and clients— we can all build not just world-class infrastructure, but a world-class safety culture.

At Onnec, we’re proud to be All in Together, not just during Safety Week, but every single day.
