We’re Now Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
We’re proud to share that Onnec has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, marking a significant step forward in its cybersecurity and compliance journey, following our recent Cyber Essentials certification.
Strengthening our security posture
Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus are UK government-backed schemes designed to protect organisations against the most common cyber threats.
While Cyber Essentials is based on a self-assessment of key technical controls, Cyber Essentials Plus goes further. It involves an independent technical audit, including hands-on testing of systems to verify that security measures are properly implemented and effective in practice.
Achieving both levels of certification demonstrates that Onnec has the policies, processes, and protections in place to minimise risk and keep sensitive information secure.

What’s the difference?
- Cyber Essentials: A self-assessed certification confirming baseline cyber hygiene controls are in place.
- Cyber Essentials Plus: An independently verified assessment, including technical testing of systems to confirm those controls are working in real-world conditions.
Together, these certifications provide a strong assurance that cybersecurity is embedded across both policy and operational practice at Onnec.
What does this mean for our customers?
For our clients, this certification is more than just a logo on our website. It’s a promise:
- Your data is protected by industry-leading cybersecurity measures.
- You’re working with a partner who takes compliance and risk management seriously.
- You can focus on serving your clients, confident that we’re looking after the security side.
Our commitment to ongoing security
Cyber Essentials Plus is not a one-off achievement. It forms part of an ongoing programme of vigilance, continuous improvement, and operational discipline. As cyber threats evolve, so too do Onnec’s controls, training, and assurance processes, ensuring security remains embedded in everything we deliver.
Andrew Janes, Head of Compliance at Onnec, commented:
Being both ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certified means Onnec is even better placed to protect our customers’ data, systems, and operations. Achieving these recognised standards across a large organisation reflects the strong collaboration between our compliance and IT teams, as well as the commitment shown by colleagues across the business. Most importantly, it gives our customers added confidence that security, resilience, and trust remain at the heart of everything we do
This achievement reinforces Onnec’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, governance, and trust for clients across all regions and projects.
