A Year of Giving Back: How Onnec Made a Difference in 2025
As we look back on the past year, one theme shines brightly across Onnec: giving back. Throughout 2025, our teams across the group came together to suport charities, champion local communities, and raise funds for causes that matter. Here’s a look back at a powerful year of impact.
Causes That Matter
Every year, teams across our regional office in UK, Ireland, and Nordics select a charity partner that reflects the values and priorities of their local colleagues. This ensures we champion causes that resonate deeply across our organisation.
For 2025-2026, our teams selected:
- UK: Marie Curie, supporting people living with terminal illness and their families.
- Ireland: St. Francis Hospice Dublin, providing specialist palliative care to patients across the region.
- Sweden: Betaniastiftelsen (the Bethany Foundation), supporting end-of-life care, palliative services, and grief support.
And while these are our focal charities, we know there are many other worthy causes making a difference every day. That’s why our teams continue to support a wide range of additional charity appeals, events, and community initiatives throughout the year.

Our teams continued to use their expertise, time, and energy to strengthen local communities — not just through fundraising, but through hands-on support.
Highlights include:
- Installing a much-needed Wi-Fi network at Surrey Docks Farm to support staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Supported Switchboard – the National LGBTQ+ Support Line. Our team proudly wore their Pride pin badges—each one purchased funded Switchboard’s essential listening service.
- London office team swapped laptops for wheelbarrows and spent the day volunteering at Hackney City Farm.

From running shoes to paddles to static bikes, our teams came together to raise money through movement — putting fitness, teamwork, and fun to great use.
Highlights include:
- Cycling 1,000km in our Tour de Onnec charity cycle challenge.
- Running the Standard Chartered Great City Race in support of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered.
- Completing the ALG5K team run in Dublin to support Depaul Ireland.
- Taking part in the Equinix Charity Padel Tournament in Finland, raising funds for Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry.
- Supporting the Inside_Networks Charity Golf Day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

As the year drew to a close, our teams embraced the spirit of generosity — supporting winter appeals and helping bring comfort to those who needed it most.
Highlights include:
- Collecting pre-loved coats for the Wrap Up London winter campaign.
- Holding a Christmas raffle in support of our UK charity partner, Marie Curie.
- Site team donating toys for the Rainham Foodbank Christmas collection.
- Gathering essential supplies for Simon Community Dublin’s Christmas appeal.
